Kind of went well. Now have a prescribing phonecall arranged for the end of the month. Have also said I was interested in a referral for fertility preservation and was surprised at how good that offering was (10 years free storage, reasonable defrost and use cost).
Potentially pre-HRT health check phonecall tomorrow. 😬🤞

I've been offered an initial appointment with WellBN for Tuesday week (they have my bloods back) and I am having some big anxiety about telling my wife. I want her to have the option of joining the appointment if she wants, so that she can ask questions too, but it has historically been an issue.

There was a lot of cross over with our experiences regarding the idea that when your internal monologue says "well, do you think you could put up with it?" Retrospectively the answer should always be no. If it's not like, the dentist or something, and is something deeper, the answer should be no.
As in, my wife was talking to her about me after I came out and she thought to herself "being in a relationship with a woman seems to me like it would be preferable", and then immediately pigeonholed it and only later realised that's not a very heterosexual thing to think.

I've had a relatively interesting morning talking with the neighbour who came out as lesbian last year. I don't know if there's a cis queer equivalent of egg-cracking, but I think I get a partial assist (in a thought experiment way) with it.

One of the HCAs I was working with yesterday asked if she could put my hair into a French plait, which was really nice and I really liked having it like that. But annoyingly I failed to get any good pictures of it other than one where I'm only wearing underwear, so no-one else gets to see it.

142 years ago today in 1884, John Coulter died after falling drunk down stairs at his friends house. After his death, it was discovered that he was a trans man. He'd worked in the Belfast docks for decades and had been married for 30 years, his wife only leaving him because of his alcohol problem.

I did bad counselling. Meant to talk about the unconditional love thing that came up on here the other day and issues and thoughts about that. Instead spent most of the session talking about how my wife's family communicate with each other. Stupid "How was your Christmas?" small talk.... *Grumbles*.
