Let's not blow this out of proportion. It was just an admin error. Two admin errors. A few admin errors. Seventeen admin errors worth £380,000.
… including payments for promoting gold, presenting on GB News and from his friend George Cottrell, within 28 days.

Reform UK leader apologised for what he described as administrative errors by his team.

Despite their mass, bogies are often thrown loose during high energy derailments. The location of this bogie and the section of the train it departed from will help investigators establish the precise trajectories of the derailed vehicles and the energies involved.

A bit of discussion about this detached bogie being a cause rather than an outcome of the Adamuz crash. It's essentially impossible for a bogie to be released from a moving train without that train already having been derailed.

Nobody wants to be proved right about any of this, but what Miller, Vought and others in Trump's circle saw as legal/constitutional opportunities with unchecked executive power could easily - perhaps more easily - happen here.

Reminder that in the UK an incoming radical, populist government would have immediate access to immense, unchecked executive power.

And the current government is doing nothing to protect us from that.

The UK constitution is even more vulnerable than the US constitution

In the face of an illiberal radical assault, what has happened politically in America could easily happen in the UK

As always, 2 things can be true at once:

1. Any police force using AI to generate reports & evidence for their decisions should be disciplined & heads should roll

2. The ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans was likely justified due to real risk of racist, violent hooliganism #r4today

What, and I cannot stress this enough, the-actual-fuck?!
Ukip have submitted a new logo and slogan to the Electoral Commission, swapping the £ pound sterling symbol for a cross, that looks very much like it is modelled on the Iron Cross used by Prussia & Germany 1871-1918 and Hitler's Nazi regime from 1933-45

One of the many bad ideas pumped into the political bloodstream by The West Wing is "it's heroic to always get loyal to your guys". No: authority comes from being strong and even handed, sometimes the right thing is to kick your guys to the stratosphere!
And compare it to the justice meted out by Labour HQ to, say, Jamie Driscoll - ditched for refusing to apologise for interviewing Ken Loach about his films.

I get why he was ditched (tho imv it was very borderline) - but that's far less bad than campaigning for a guy charged with child porn!!
