This is what can happen when faculty collectively fight. We don't have to rely on the president of the university to have a backbone, especially at public universities.

This is where politicization matters: when you have ideologues leading this work, and civil servants who know they will be fired if they do not deliver on fishing expeditions, harder for them to stay ethical.
A proper fishing expedition

The judiciary is so compromised
BREAKING: Judges Rao and Walker — both Trump appointees — issue an "administrative stay" blocking Judge Boasberg's contempt proceedings set to begin on Monday.

The administrative stay is issued over the objection of Judge Childs, a Biden appointee.

This is what he is like with *the press* - people who have some power over him.
I just want you to imagine what it is like to be a public employee, with an ounce of integrity, who has to try to present any data that contradicts Trump's statements. And what sort of bubble Trump is in as a result.
Q: At the end of this year, those extended Obamacare subsidies expire. What's your message to those 24m Americans who will see their premiums go up?

TRUMP: Don't make it sound so bad. Obviously you're a sycophant for Democrats. You're obviously a provider of bad news for Republicans.

Hard to overstate how damning it is they've spun their wheels trying to come up with their strongest possible argument and the best they can do, the rationalization for it Hegseth actually put in writing, is "we can kill shipwrecked survivors if they try to call for help."
2/ The Hegseth-approved contingency plan:

The U.S. military could try to kill shipwrecked survivors if "they took what the United States deemed to be a hostile action, like communicating with suspected cartel members."

Those survivors, who supposedly failed to "cease all combat activities" by trying to radio for help while clinging to flaming wreckage after their boat suddenly exploded for reasons completely unknown to them, died having no idea they were ever in "combat" with the US Navy at all.

It's a campaign of terror.

Her terror (and the terror of entire communities, forced into hiding) is not incidental.

It is a product they are manufacturing, a key part of the spectacle for their intended audience.

Which is the terrorized, but also the terror consumers.
Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

I don’t think it’s necessarily great that the CIA operated Afghan military squads but we certainly did do so and we made commitments to those people and we failed to keep faith with at least our moral responsibilities in this case.

”Free speech culture” means that when a prominent activist calls you a “retarded pussy” you should not call it out because that’s cancel culture. You should just engage in better debate! Try going on a podcast.
Oh nothing. Just a major conservative activist, former staffer for Chuck Grassley and a former clerk for Justice Neil Gorsuch calling me a "retarded pussy." Fun stuff on X, the everything site.
