Read the whole thread. Gregg is right. It’s NOT a question of “experts disagree.” I’ve been working in medicine, medical journalism or global health for 32 years & know a LOT of health professionals—I do not know a *single one* who supports RFK Jr’s dangerous dismantling of the US vaccine system.
Children will die with RFK Jr.'s new vaccine recommendations. We're NOT doing the "experts disagree" game. The US vaccine schedule was painstakingly constructed through a deep & thorough process by experts with unquestionable expertise. This is policy by fiat. It is pre-meditated murder. 1/

Oof, okay. This one's a weird, uncomfortable ask. December was an extremely lean month, with half my shit on going on Flex loans, and I'm staring down the barrel of not being able to pay my rent this month. If you dug my work this year and are feeling generous, I could use a leg up.

1/3Most remarkable thing abt SCOTUS majority is its combined arrogance & intellectual dishonesty. They are overturning constitutional understandings dating to 1800s & destroying modern US gov't in service of a THEORY - unitary executive - THEY invented & which by virtue of its very novelty is...
In the hearing on the Slaughter case, Justice Sotomayor noted that “Neither King, not parliament, not prime ministers ever had an unqualified removal power” but that is what unitary executive would grant.
Bears repeating how novel and radical this theory is:

It’s becoming increasingly clear that the best thing a parent can do for their son is to enroll him in co-ed activities and facilitate friendships with girls from the youngest age possible.

Patriarchy hurts boys. And nothing runs counter to patriarchy like teaching boys to genuinely value girls.
"the issue isn’t that we need more 'boy-friendly' reforms. It’s that boys are socialized to compete only with boys and to read girls’ success as illegitimate or emasculating. The result is dissonance, resentment, and disengagement for boys—and hostile climates for girls."

I am quite confident that to the sadistic sadists who are our current senior federal officials, this is a hoped-for feature, the exact opposite of a bug.

ADX is inhuman and inhumane. As the article notes, even former wardens call it “worse than death.”

Surprisingly, this post got traction last night. So now I want to tell you about Clay Shaw, and Jim Garrison's horrific homophobic prosecution of him, a nightmare of Les Miserables-like proportions.
This thread may be long, but there are lessons for us today in knowing what happened. Here goes...
That Oliver Stone made a movie lionizing Jim Garrison's ludicrous prosecution of an innocent man (Clay Shaw) is one of the most egregious historical transmogrifications in cinema. Imagine in 20 yrs a Stephen Miller hagiography starring Chalamet, that's the artistic crime level we're talking.
We do know who killed JFK. The Warren Commission was an incredibly thorough and good-faith effort to prove and document what had happened, which they did. The conspiracy theories arose in spite of best efforts to avoid them, but there really isn't anything they could have reasonably done better.

I think this is overlooked in the discussion I'm seeing, whether or not it is intentional on the part of the compromising D senators. The extension of the CRs expiration date is a possible fracture point in Johnson's caucus, let alone the language on RIFs. Not sure he can get this thru with Rs only.
Pretty sure this is an effort to force the House to re-open by the senate crafting its own solution (the merits of the solution are a sep discussion). Which would be interesting given it hasn’t been in session since September and any new bill would have to go through the house as well.
