i do think even a lot of otherwise well-informed Americans really do not understand just how much Trump has already mutilated our global reputation and global trust.

Everyone asks what Europe will do without US military protection but nobody is asking what the US military will do when they lose all logistical support on the continent, including ports, air bases, and housing for troops/equipment.

If a politician said this about any other faith, they would rightfully be run out of their party.
But this kind of despicable anti-Muslim rhetoric is so normalized that a sitting Senator uses it without consequence.
