It is going to continue becoming increasingly important for you to understand and internalize that nice is different than good.

The sooner you get there, the better for us all.

a strong case could also be made that if you were confused by why Bill and Ted would cast themselves in WAITING FOR GODOT, you might also not fully understand Bill and Ted
clairewillett.bsky.social
a strong case could be made that in fact, by selecting this play for themselves to star in, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have demonstrated that they understand WAITING FOR GODOT better than anyone else alive

Today is an appropriate day, for better or worse (as it were), for this lovely small poem to show itself to me

Any other musical theatre nerds in here?

Well shit. They're discontinuing the K Health app, which is a literal lifesaver for folks (like me) who are un/underinsured and/or need access to telehealth and promptly. Shit.
abobandrea.bsky.social
They're too busy to fix it what with all the time spent harassing and banning folks for championing their app and wanting it to live up to the standards they promised, I guess 🤷‍♀️

(Ofc video alt text still doesn't work 👎)

No one is a single-issue voter. All that's really meant by that is that one has minimum moral standards, and many politicians aren't meeting them, so a moral check is an important first test.

Opposition to "purity tests" is an opposition to moral minimums, and it's how we got immoral leaders.

Also: why on earth would anyone fight for someone who doesn't have their back? Imagine being in the trenches in World War One and your buddy goes "hey just so you know I will totally leave you to die if it wins us the war" like, that doesn't make you utilitarian it makes you a mercenary of lives

So many people think that "ah you can't really tell an AI wrote this post or not!" is a gotcha.

Ok, let's say you're right. But if your post is shaped like an AI post, and your thoughts are shaped like AI thoughts, then the fact that there's no difference reflects rather poorly on you.

I feel like this is one of those "that which can be destroyed by the truth should be" situations, no?
abobandrea.bsky.social
(This is NOT a dunk on OP) I need folks to understand that there are people who want others to get sick & they want those who are very sick to die. This is eugenics & it was built into the very foundation of our society.

This is why you don't go along with leaving *anyone* to "fall by the wayside."

Even aside from being obviously morally correct it’s way more cost effective and leads to a better time for everyone!! Like I get that there are (bad) people who derive life satisfaction from being wealthier than everyone around them but I don’t think anyone wants everyone around them to be sick!
abobandrea.bsky.social
Not everyone, just those who they think deserve it. Because eugenics.

Lyme, ME/CFS, endometriosis, long COVID, coeliac disease, adenomyosis, fibromyalgia & all the other conditions where there's actually nothing wrong with us, but we just enjoy pretending to be ill. For fuck's sake. It's like we've regressed to the 1960s when my mum was accused of being a malingerer.

Is that a weird thing to do? I smile at babies (and toddlers/kids) everywhere. Oh well, add it to my list, I guess 🤷‍♀️
