very funny to me that both liberal and radical feminist legal policy are complete and utter failures of projects because in response to a situation where "boys" want to play with girls and associate with girls the response by the state is to ban this to ensure it's either become a patriarch or die

Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets are collapsing, locking in multi-meter sea level rise.
Coral reefs continue to die off.
Atlantic ocean current collapse means Europe could soon enjoy Edmonton winters.
Our boreal forest continues to burn every summer.

But at least we'll have a strong economy.
The new Canada-Alberta MOU is a positive step for our energy future.

Meaningful investments in Pathways, clear measures to reduce emissions, and a stronger industrial carbon price give Albertans the certainty we need to move forward. /1

The Alberta government putting out a statement for Trans Day of Remembrance two days after using the Notwithstanding Clause to override trans kids rights feels like parody at this point

"Our government remains a dedicated partner of transgender Albertans.”

tbh the stark reality is that for nonbinary gender existence to gain much stronger mass traction among the public, it's basically imperative that people also 'allow the body to be nonbinary' i.e. question sexing of the body itself. there's basically no way binary sex & nonbinary gender can coexist

For @truthout.org I look at Canada's border policies and how we force US-based migrants to hide for 14 days to be able to claim asylum. Rather than preparing for more arrivals, Canada is making it virtually impossible for people to claim asylum from the US.

Canada Considers Anti-Immigrant Bills as Haitian Immigrants in the US Flee North
Canada is not making it easy for asylum seekers from the US to find safe harbor.

Honte.
La Presse's Deputy Editor writes that any of their journalists who signed a statement denouncing journalists being murdered would be in violation of La Presse's journalistic standards on "impartiality":

dark woke take 2: all attempts to constantly cater to "what about getting tate stans into leftism" is a waste of time. proletarianization encircles women, trans people, the gender oppressed. that boat's gone. it's the 21st c. now. misogynistic men will fix their hearts or die. no joke. dead serious
here's my dark woke take. just lock in already to put two birds in one nest and just raise every potential cis boy as a trans girl from the get go [I AM KIDDING THIS IS A JOKE I AM NOT SERIOUSLY ENDORSING THIS]
Essay: A senior at an all boys high school on the appeal of the Tate brothers: In a confusing time for young men, they offer “answers that are appealingly simple.”

It's odd that the Globe doesn't name Ricardo Prada Vásquez or mention that he crossed into Canada but then was disappeared by the US. It's a Canadian newspaper. Shouldn't we be asking how implicated we are in Trump's border madness?
