Model is stuck in rigging hell and programming is stuck in pathfinding hell. It's really hard to keep a consistent gamedev output when progress is gated behind learning a whole new craft.

Been making some significant progress, and I finally have enough to feel worth sharing at least a general engine/enemy AI test. I've made a lot of improvements to enemy AI, physics and platforming, ect. But what do YOU think! Feedback is welcome!

Looking back at how my game changed over the year what affected its new direction the most is seeing how many excellent games I've found and played today never even passed the 10 reviews mark on Steam. Making it in gamedev is pure luck and you get one try at it every few years at best.

Right now the one thing I'm very unsure of is how to handle the system for enemy behaviors. Studying games taught me I need them a lot less smart than I initially thought but I'm still not sure about how to handle where they should position themselves and how much they should communicate.

Control aggro and stun with main character, position side character towards the enemy's weak side to create juggle opportunities, expend time to maximize the reward with longer combos. That's the vision for the game so far. Models are placeholder don't worry about it.

Seeing generative stuff sneak its way in otherwise clean projects because people refuse to acknowledge that generative vocal synths aren't the same as the old vocal synths and that data for fine-tuning isn't the same as data for the initial training issssssss something

400+ ping match simulating a worst case scenario for the new client-side prediction.

With defender side hit registration, Attackers can hit the other player's model directly for real damage most of the time at high ping.

Really wish I was working on a musou story-heavy grand strategy 4 player rollback class-based asymmetrical co-op 3rd gen mech game right now.
Yesterday I spent 2 hours making enemies get launched in the correct direction when I hit them so that will have to wait unfortunately.

Starting a Habitica daily checklist has been a lot more succesful than I was expecting. Knowing I still have other stuff to do lets me avoid "I just need to finish this" mode which is how my burnouts all start.
