If we protect the most vulnerable among us, which at the moment is trans women of color, then maybe we will all get free.

All of which to say is: judge any company by how it treats its lowliest employees. The Guardian has managed to maintain a system in which 1/3 of its journalists aren't even employees. The zero hours ones have to take a month off every year to prevent them accruing rights. Not even Uber does that.

Ultimately Democrats vulnerability on trans rights has nothing to do with trans rights. What people hear is that Democrats care more about trans rights than their own concerns, a message that would have zero traction if they felt Democrats genuinely did care about their own concerns

Two random trans people are rarely going to cross paths. I have been a living in my truth trans person since the 90s. If it were not that I worked in a hospital setting until I retired from said hospital. I never would have encountered someone like me outside work unless I actively sought them out.

The real insidious part of the whole trans panic which is by far worse than the whole gay panic of the past is that trans people unless actively seeking other trans people really are isolated without peers of the same group they belong to in every day life.
