It's possible that a year from now, on Dec. 31, we will be able to say that things are better now than they were a year ago. I don't think that was possible a year ago. So there's something to hold on to!

Big surprise: she was NOT credited on screen.

New year's resolution for journalists and news leaders: Challenge numbers. When leaders describe a $6 Billion data center" ask — what's behind that number? Where does the money go? The $xB industry -- is that money to local economies, or investors? This is an almost universal miss that can be fixed.

#TheHousemaid is campy, twisted fun. Has a dark yet playful streak that's the perfect antidote to saccharine holiday nonsense. Hats off to #AmandaSeyfried for her pitch-perfect scenery chewing.

The less you know going in, the better, so avoid trailers.

Not particularly happy with the #AI direction #Mozilla is planning for #Firefox, so I'm trying #Waterfox—a fork of Firefox—on my Windows 11 PC and my Android phone.

Wished there were an iOS version to try on my iPad, but it doesn't exist.

Just finished the season finale of #WelcomeToDerry, and it was very satisfying.

Gore-soaked yet heartfelt. And the children-in-jeopardy factor is at 11 throughout the whole series (which is as it should be considering the IT source material).

A friend who is on a cruise sent me a sassy text message earlier this week, and I responded with the clip of the tidal wave scene from The Poseidon Adventure.

Because that's how I roll.

I saw an early screening of #DustBunny a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.

If you appreciate the vibe of #PushingDaisies and horror stories centered on children and how they handle what they're up against (think Poltergeist or It), you'll enjoy yourself.

I heard #Christmas music in stores on November 1. HARD PASS.

My mother always started decorating for Christmas the day after #Thanksgiving.

NOT decorating for holidays AT ALL is also a perfect choice.

But Christmas decor before Thanksgiving = side eye.
