So apparently the sky is falling because Councilor Morillo wants to move $4.3 million from the camp sweeps budget to… wait for it… housing, food, and community support.

Here’s the deal: Portland spends about $17 million a year on the “Impact Reduction Program.”

Disability is the only marginalized group you can join at any time. One accident. One illness. One shift in your body. Growing older. That’s not fear... it’s perspective. Inclusion isn’t “for them.” It’s for all of us.

Hey @pbotinfo.bsky.social how is removing diverters "fixing are streets"? This is some shenanigans we dont need right now. We should be building out bike infrastructure not tearing it down.
PBOT is removing many planters/diverters. Streets are being made less safe as part of "Fixing Our Streets".

BikeLoud will be writing letters and following up. It's helpful if YOU read the @bikeportland.org article and comment there too!

Every bit of street safety takes so much work! Aargh!

A reminder on this Labor Day: Slavery still exists in the form of incarcerated labor.

It’s long overdue to end forced labor in prisons.

Got to spend the weekend with friends and family camping. Such a gift to get out there away from our phones and just eat, swim and chill in a beautiful natural place. This was the swimming hole at our site on the nestucca river in Oregon. Just fucking rad #getoutthere #camping #rivers

When they rolled back measure 110, I was devastated. My mother struggled with heroin addiction. She died from an overdose. I wish this kind of program had been available to her because I know it would have saved her life. Decriminalization saves lives. Criminalizing addiction leads to death.

We simply cannot afford a doom loop for TriMet. Reduction in service will lead to a reduction in ridership, leading to declining fares, more cuts, 🔁 The cost will be increased congestion, further deterioration in PBOT assets and of course emissions. We can’t afford that. Call your state reps.
