If given the chance, I'd lose my legs all over again to serve in our great military.

The leader of your party is a five-time draft dodger who has fired more Veterans than any other president in our history.

Square that circle then tell me who really hates our military.

The richest people in the country aren’t stressing that their health care costs could double.

No, they’re getting tax breaks. Thanks to Trump, the super wealthy have never had it this good.

Working people are suffering from Trump’s higher costs.

It’s a terrible bill. It will literally kill people. The most vulnerable among us will suffer as the wealthiest benefit. It’s perverse. I wish there were something I could do. But alas, I am only a U.S. Senator from Alaska whose “no” vote would kill the bill. So I voted yes. You get it.

This is a helpful clarification and I think I may have been the first person on here to make that specific comparison, so I am grateful for the correction and want to make sure folks following me see it.

Mea culpa, I am still learning to be a Budget Understander
I can not stress enough that ICE does not have the budget of the Marine Corps. They would have a large budget increase spread over multiple years. They are not going to be fielding a MAGTF with fixed wing assets.

This 940-page reconciliation bill has a list of horrific provisions. One of the worst is a $211 billion tax break to the top 0.2% who inherit $30 million.

In this bill 16 million lose health care & hungry kids lose nutrition. Meanwhile, billionaires get much richer. Disgusting.

The GOP could sure ‘own libs’ and the mainstream media if they nominated Mark Robinson here. Would sure show them.
Shock announcement: NC Senator Thom Tillis just announced he is retiring, less than 24 hours after he opposed starting debate on his party’s mega bill.

His seat is up in 2026, and having it be an open seat sure changes the calculus and Democratic chances of flipping it.

A nice reminder of the immense power contained in saying “no.” When people refuse to comply, it raises the costs ($$$, political, social, etc) of enforcing authoritarianism. They very well might try anyway, but every person that says “no” is another point of friction.

If the GOP reconciliation bill passes, ICE gets through FY2029:

- $45 billion for detention, on top of the current annual budget of $3.4 billion
- $14.4 billion for transportation and removal, on top of the current annual budget of $750 million
- $8 billion for hiring/retention
- Billions more.

Your bill is the single largest health care rollback in American history.

If you’re going to do it, at least have the guts to own it. Federal Medicaid $ does not cover undocumented people, period. Surely you know this.

The discourse would be more honest of folks were up front about which policy proposals they support *are not* political winners right now (and *how* they would go about building support for them, though obviously that's harder), rather than just insist elected leaders of their party adopt them

The rhetoric of the White House reveals a remarkable confidence that it knows better than you -- or the market -- who should gets what, who should do what, and who deserves what. I'm not sure what to call it -- perhaps central planning with a red hat rather than a red flag.
