I know he’s older but Charlie Angus is the only compelling left-wing political figure in Canada right now. In 2017, the political moment was different, and so the NDP leadership went to Singh instead. However, I think Angus is well positioned for this moment. Who else could do it?

My advice on the national pride thing is that it really should be politically unconditional. Though I can understand, with the disintegration in norms, rights and institutions, why so many Democrats feel the way they do.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
