Can one of the gajillion cops out there please ARREST THESE FUCKING CRIMINALS???

In my experience, when dealing with people who would use violence and/or manipulation to rob the marginalized of their [already limited] power, an honorable person would use violence and/or manipulation to take it back on behalf of the marginalized. I shall call that “chaotic good code switching.”

These regular people are doing what every single fucking Democratic member of Congress could have been doing goddamn YESTERDAY
Hi all, We’re still here at OPM.

We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building.

Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

"No one ever thought this would happen" is dishonest and journalists not pointing that out are doing you all a disservice. Many people said word for word this would happen. You just didn't respect those people. And you need to be honest instead of the feigned surprise for sympathy.

I work in a maintenance shop that is openly hostile toward lgbtqia+ identifiers. So “outing” myself as such could (and probably would) jeopardize my wellbeing at work.

Then I remember that I’m an electrician with a technicolor mullet. I’m already “outed.”

I still might do it.

In light of recent news coming from the abyss about diversity and inclusion programs, and manufactured hostility toward lgbtqia+ folx and their identifiers, the I-don’t-fucking-think-so in me wants to preemptively display a progress pride flag on my tool cart.

One could sum up the paradox of the 20th century as the idea that our most rational technologies (like science & mathematics) lent ultimate power to the most dangerous & irrational human beings among us.

Now in the 21st century, we can say the same about our current communication technologies.
How Social Media is a technology used as warfare in the 21st century
By our enemies, and, out of necessity, by our own governments against our enemies

The big name 501c3 aDvoCacY industry with big budget ad campaigns are not going to be the ones protecting us.

It’s going to be… us.

Look for like minds in your locale and join them if you can.
the world is a grim place, and yet the parish newsletter I just got in my inbox is stuffed with concrete calls to action on everything from immigration and ecojustice to civil rights education and boosting Palestinian voices

Yes, defending yourself is dangerous.
Not defending yourself is more so.

Defend yourself anyways, and don’t listen to anyone who tries to minimize you for it.

Freedom & safety are factors under our control. Fight back.

“They have a much more comprehensive hepatology department than we do.

Unfortunately Nemours-DuPont does not accept your insurance.

Would you like to see if Nemours will approve a one-time out-of-network visit for Medicaid recipients?”

How has this become our normal?

I was working in a GI nurse practitioner’s office today, and I overheard her talking on the phone to the mother of a patient. I will sum up:

“Your daughter has advanced fatty liver disease, and we’d like you to make an appointment at Nemours-DuPont pediatrics in Wilmington, Delaware. 1/2

Hypothesis: our cities are our “indicator species.”

I use the word “species” purely as part of the metaphor.

In an unhealthy human ecosystem, cities—and the people trapped in them—will suffer most intensely.

I expect Philly gonna have a rough time ahead. And I bet Mayor Parker gets blamed.

🚨This is weaponization of social determinants of health to take away healthcare. It should be clear that improvements in health due to food/chemicals/environment are not to be expected due to lobbying & their desire to remove all regulations. Yet, they want to blame YOU & take away your healthcare.
As Rs gear up to cut healthcare, Sen. Marshall says, "Look, about 70% of your health outcomes are determined by you. It's determined by what you eat & what you're surrounded by. By the time you come to my office as a doctor, I can impact maybe 10 or 20% of your health outcomes"
