It's weird thinking back about how pepper spray and tear gas used to be an escalation, even if an easily provoked one, to now being a baseline thing.

Good News: On my last follow up, my FFS surgeon was confident things were okay.
Bad News: The whole process was way more expensive than I anticipated and all the money I had set aside to help me get through my revision next month is now gone.

It's terribly cold out so the living room heater keeps kicking on, unfortunately our ceiling fan is broke, so there's no good way to circulate the heat and we're getting some bad hot/cold spots in the room. The fact that the house is rather old and the outside walls leach heat doesn't help either

I keep seeing people say “ICE aren’t law enforcement.” Here are the police arresting peaceful protestors and not ICE. ICE _are_ law enforcement federal law enforcement, and the police all recognize them as “brothers in blue.”

I'm panicking a little cause I'm close to being in the red. Paying bills will be in a week or so and this emergency post barely even covers it. It's just for food.
I'm not sure if I can make it in 2 weeks before money for food runs out💔 I desperately need $470 to reach this goal. My ankle pain has put me out of commission for a while, so I've had to work less. In 3 weeks i would have to ration but i'm trying not to let it get to that😔

I don't watch a ton of news because I prefer print media, but a family member does and I'm feeling like there has been an uptick in feel good stories about cops. It's making me wonder if there's some push to separate the image of ICE from more regular cops. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and cynical

Just like all the fascism going on in government halls isn't because of one man, Trump, exploiting faults in the system, but instead a possible, even probable, result of the systems wider state, so to ICE isn't an anomaly of policing but a intensification of the usual.
