Streets are still closed off in front of the Portland ICE facility at 8:30pm. Protesters have gathered on a side street. Dance party in progress.

No the expected political thing to do when your opponent’s are attacking the rights of a group that's part of your base is to stand up for them. Y'all need to stop excusing trying to win the votes of bigots as valid and neutral political action.

Worked a casino job in Connecticut years ago and most of the native folks working there had some story about family members detained by ICE. This is always what ICE agents wanted to be doing.

Pritzker needs to take some sort of demonstrative action against this. But nothing he does will stop this.

Still, liberal voters and elected leaders are confronted by the fact that the police are not democratically accountable. They have no interest in protecting you or your rights from the feds.

Gov. Pritzker has said all the right things, but now he needs to act and get these state troopers out of there.

i guess fundamentally i don't have trouble imagining an American carrying out a public shooting for almost any conceivable reason. it's just something we do over here. availability of firearms is obviously a big part of why but not the only reason.

I watched impeachment do nothing his first term, twice. Why would anyone call for more political theater?

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

The far right manufactures conspiracies to shield their ideology from pushback and facilate escalating violence. It's part of a wider strategy and doesn't work for libs who base their strategy around objective reality. The issue isn't playing their game but doing it poorly.

Pet parrots which typically live alone (whilst those in the wild live in large flocks) were given the technology to call each other. They would use it for up to three hours a day, and developed favourite friends 💔
on.ft.com/3K05vhS
When a parrot wanted to connect with a distant friend, a touchscreen showed a selection of other birds available online. The parrots learned to activate the screen, designed specially for them, by touching it gently with their tongues rather than pecking aggressively with their beaks.
"We had 26 birds involved," said Hirskyj-Douglas. "They would use the system up to three hours a day, with each call lasting up to five minutes." The interactions ranged from preening and playing with toys to loud vocal exchanges.
"When we went through the data, we found that most of these parrots had favourite friends," said Hirskyj-Douglas.

No one has ever been more out of their depth lol
On Thursday morning, a day after hastily suggesting the person who gunned down Charlie Kirk was in custody, Kash Patel, the F.B.I. director, convened an online meeting with 200 agents around the country to discuss the manhunt. It was a tense affair.
Mr. Patel and his deputy, Dan Bongino, made it clear they were under intense pressure to catch the killer of Mr. Kirk.
They expressed themselves with such fierce urgency that, in the view of some participants, it hinted at another motive: to prove they were up to the task.
The director wasted no time before calling out subordinates that he said failed to give him timely information and was incensed that agents in Salt Lake City waited nearly 12 hours to show him a photo of the suspected killer, according to three people familiar on the exchange.
Mr. Patel said he would not tolerate any more "Mickey Mouse operations," an official on the call recounted. It was one of his few utterances without profanity, the person added.

Rufo calling for mass arrests, Blake Masters & Cernovich calling for RICO against Dem & left funders, and a whole lot of everyday people begging for martial law, or, even worse, "gloves off." 99.9% of whom are just spouting off, but today if anything teaches us the damage that one .1% fool can do.
