The Epstein emails should really end the debate over whether society should have billionaires. "Do you want there to be a class of people so powerful they can fuck your kids and no one will even try to do anything" seems like an easy sell if everyone in politics wasn't trying to get on their payroll

Whether it's a Hillary Clinton staffer asking John Podesta how to make risotto or Elon Musk asking Jeffrey Epstein where he could find a party featuring child sex slaves, there's plenty of embarrassing emails on both sides.

Man, it’s wild that normal people just go to work every day while the people who run everything meticulously document their sex crimes

I was asked if the US is an authoritarian regime today.
What ingredients of democracy remain?
Sure, we have elections but
Rule of law is gone. Sure, juries are doing good stuff but reasonable courts are being overruled by far right, corrupt court.
Congress's power has been usurped

Ok I get it but please don’t do this. One day soon we will be able to afford for that not to matter but not while I still can’t afford food for the last week of every month.

I hope this is true. But even if not, the alternative is so grim that optimism is the only way to get by day-to-day. Manifest that ish.

"The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common, and that they’re the ones who are alone."
Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

I appreciate all the talk about accountability for these ICE agents and Trump cronies, but I hope everyone understands the absolutely TITANIC level of effort that will be required to overcome the intense institutional resistance to accountability that is inevitable in the wake of all this.

Yes, It’s Fascism
Until recently, I thought it a term best avoided. But now, the resemblances are too many and too strong to deny.

a name is not enough information to be considered a “dox” and if DHS believes that then this is a secret police and we should be referring to them that way
NEW: The ICE List website listing thousands of ICE employees cites LinkedIn as the source of much of its info about ICE agents. Despite DHS's threat to treat revealing agents' identities as a crime, it's trivial to find their profiles. @regret.bsky.social w/ the scoop: www.wired.com/story/ice-ag...

Beyond the fact that this bugfuck insane letter was written and sent to the leader of Norway, the State Dept agreeing to distribute it to other heads of state instead of objecting and honorably resigning or at the very least planning some kind of coverup is a sign of deep institutional collapse.
So this is why Trump is fixated on Greenland. Vengeance strikes again. This guy is dangerous.
