One of the easiest ways to shoot down the idea that "AI" is an expert is to show how it deals with something people know about.

Younger readers may not get this as most appliances come pre-wired, but anyone 35+ can see these are chaotic fire hazards.

From Mastodon, AI asked how to wire a plug:

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

It will take so long to recover from the anti-science commentary coming from the likes of Charlebois.
Here is my latest. Sylvain Charlebois, Canada's beloved commentator on the food industry, thinks that not giving us access to raw milk is communism.

Canada is not only complicit with the presence of ICE officers but through the mass deportations that began at the end of the Trudeau government and escalated further by the Carney government. Not to mention the brutality of closing the door to asylum seekers crossing at the border through SCTA.

How to improve Halifax traffic, provincial government edition:

1) Incentivize more drivers to go through two ridiculous bottlenecks to cram more cars onto the Peninsula.

2) Gaze in astonishment when you make things WORSE.

3) Blame bike lanes because you're angry that cyclists keep passing you.
Collisions on BOTH sides of the Macdonald...

One was near the HFX-Side, and that was earlier.

But NOW - another collision at the former tolls of the Macdonald. Expect big extended delays #HFXTraffic

In Halifax I propose we do the same for City councillors and mayor. Drop them in Burnside and have them get to City Hall with a $20 bill. (they can figure out the app if they want)
If I were Mayor of Ottawa, I would drive the @octranspo.com management team to Westboro, dump them on a random side street and give them 1 hour to get back to City Hall using only a Presto card

Whoever makes it back in time gets to keep their job

Good morning.

The four districts that are cashflow positive on residential properties (7, 8, 9, and 16) generate an estimated $80m in surplus in residential and an additional $51m in commercial surplus each year.

Or: About one Halifax Forum per year above their estimated operating costs.
