If I'm a person who's going through a bad time and I see someone who overshares their problems get overwhelming support from places and people they would usually never get it from, what makes you think I'll be sensible enough to think of posting my thoughts in a diary where no one will see them?

I try and avoid political posts because… well… *gestures*, but I am *still* seeing posts from Americans talking about stuff that the “next president” will have to clean up after “the next election” and it blows my mind that even despite… well… *gestures*, they still think there’ll be one.

I'm not as annoyed that America™ is only now acknowledging police brutality is a thing because Renee got murdered as I am annoyed that even this will probably not change anything.

Watching Inherent Vice, I had this thought while watching a naked Katherine Waterson do her thing that I'll probably never go all the way as a filmmaker because I'd never wanna be in a position to film someone naked but then I remembered some great directors are very family friendly like Spielberg

This may sound cynical but whatever. Most of you won't stand up to your uncle/grandpa who has problematic views not because you're afraid but because the hate and the bigotry is so normalized and goes without saying that it never even gets to be a dinner table conversation.

One thing I'm enforcing in my life come 2026 until beyond is refusing to doubt the magic/power I clearly possess. If my life means anything and the amount of times I've been (mis)treated, it's pretty clear that there's something people see in me (a threat to them) that I don't and that has to stop.

I feel like the "my conservative parents" thing that happens every holiday needs to stop at some time because the next generation is friends of our kids and if they have conservative parents, they'll be talking about us.
