I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

A mother in our neighborhood was taken on Sunday. Her oldest is 15. The family couldn’t find her in the system until last night. She’s being held in a camp in Texas.

Two things that I have not successfully conveyed to people without deep Minnesota ties are the scale and extent of the ICE occupation (a word I don't use lightly), and likewise of the community resistance.
