I can vouch for the creator of this formulation, they know what they are talking about. This creates a solution similar to what law enforcement uses themselves but modified for ease of production in a common household. #abolishice #fuckice #minneapolis #minnesota #protest #ICE

In winter’s chill and falling snow,
Arms are linked, a steady row.
Masked in night, they dance and sing,
As ICE retreats, their voices ring.
Stars and stripes wrap ‘round the soul,
While "Goodbye" echoes, brave and whole.

Two days ago it was Elissa Slotkin. Last week it was Jerome Powell. Before that, Mark Kelly. Weaponizing the justice system against your opponents is an authoritarian tactic.

The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.
Breaking news: The Justice Department has issued subpoenas for Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey as part of an investigation alleging that they are impeding federal law enforcement officers’ abilities to do their jobs in the state.

You can see how trigger-happy these guys are when you watch how they respond to people standing up to them. ICE goons have spent their adult lives fantasizing about being able to rape, pillage, and murder with impunity. Now our tax dollars are paying for their opportunity to make that happen.
"Until Minneapolis, I would have told you that as bad as Trump is, he’s not capable of ordering ICE agents to shoot people...at random, and that as bad as ICE is, they’d refuse such orders. Now I no longer believe either of those things."

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

AIM are the good guys. If you see folks sporting this flag, you can relax knowing they're here to help us get ICE off our backs.
American Indian Movement (AIM) patrol trucks have been spotted around NE and folks are flagging them as suspicious and giving them unwelcoming glances because they don’t know who they are. This is the AIM logo and flag, which you might see on their trucks. They are friends!

For @msnownews.bsky.social, I wrote an article about how ICE Watch is grounded in sociological theories of violence prevention.

The reality is that most men will only commit public violence in extremely specific scenarios and ICE Watch disrupts the conditions necessary for escalation.
Opinion | I'm a Minneapolis sociologist who studies violence. Here's how ICE observers are helping.
Research into how violence occurs shows that disapproval from the people around you can help reduce it.

Okay I know this is behind a paywall but it does a good job of capturing the utter chaos we’ve been observing.
"The engine puttered; the inside of his 15-year-old hatchback was starting to smell like burning oil.

Within seconds Stancil was on the Expedition’s tail, no more than a few metres off the white bumper. He laid into his horn. 'Meep-Meep-Meep!' It sounded like the Roadrunner. 'Meep-Meep-Meep!'"
Richard Warnica: I spent the week in Minnesota. The only thing I’m sure of now is that more people are going to die

When you invade communities with immoral armed goons, you are entering OUR homes, OUR schools, OUR places, and endangering OUR kids. All these goons belong in prison.

Scoop: U.S. Customs and Border Protection is requiring officers to undergo more crowd-control training to square off with demonstrators in cities like Minneapolis.

This will likely result in more officers certified to shoot pepper balls and tear gas canisters.

2,000 detentions so far from their surge in Minnesota, DHS says

Some of that is citizens beaten & held for 8 or 12 hours & then released

And some is tearing families from each other indefinitely

I will campaign for the politician, whoever they are, who says "Dismantle DHS & REUNITE EVERY FAMILY"
A mother in our neighborhood was taken on Sunday. Her oldest is 15. The family couldn’t find her in the system until last night. She’s being held in a camp in Texas.

She had status that was arbitrarily taken away. Doing things “the right way.”
