How is it that there’s nothing more cherished and American than public schools, but public childcare is considered a scary proposal? I’m not DSA and I care about business and economic growth… and I can’t think of something that’s a better win/win for families and for the economy.

For the next Democratic president: the Nonsense Reduction Act, to undo this foolishness (and scrape the vandalism off the Kennedy Center).

This applies beyond just this case - there are a lot of ongoing lawsuits, and our sense of what the Constitution means (at least according to the Supreme Court) has never been more volatile. Any of us who want to fight back need to know where things stand.

For now, Chicago: we haven't won yet.

Getting this right matters. People see headlines like this and think we've achieved a final victory in court, maybe one that will apply nationwide. That'll affect, for example, the urgency people feel to get involved in resistance activities.

So many misleading headlines about the Supreme Court's ruling on Chicago and troop deployment. They make it sound like the Court definitively rejected deploying troops in Chicago. It didn't.

A few prominent examples.

I often wonder if the scientists who developed early vaccines, at the moment when they realized how many lives could be saved, could ever imagine that one day people would voluntarily choose not to use them.

Powerful video - thanks, @sanders.senate.gov.

WA just cleared its backlog of sexual assault kits, a HUGE win for survivors.
Thank you to our lawmakers and Democratic leaders for passing the legislation and funding that made this possible!

Showing up to No Kings with a sign reading “monarchy is an affront to human dignity but, when incorporated into a liberal democratic system, may nevertheless be a useful safety valve for nationalist and/or authoritarian impulses” and then getting clobbered by a Buttigieg-supporting grandmother
Incidentally, I’ve been chafing a bit at the “No Kings” thing, because there are loads of monarchies that have more limits on executive power than the US does, but it has the great advantage that it makes Americans who want to oppose it sound, well, unamerican….
one of the reasons they're so mad at "no kings" is that they thought they were going to get a different kind of protest. they *want* the black bloc to be out there fighting with the cops. those are the images they've been trying to generate from "go." instead--
