Heartbreaking: Neo-soul legends Angie Stone and D’Angelo both passed away in 2025, just 7 months apart. Stone died in March at 63. D’Angelo died today at 51. They shared a son together. An entire generation’s soundtrack, gone. Rest in power to both 🕊️💔

We had to wait 15 years for a third perfect album. During that time, D'Angelo barely survived his private life battles. He was criticized about his infrequent musical output, mugshots ridiculed, etc. and I was just in deep gratitude that he was still alive. Black Messiah was a beautiful bonus.

I don't get the determination to make Columbus relevant to US history. He never set foot on US soil. He "discovered" a place where millions of people lived and vikings and Irish fishermen knew about. Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
