lol asked about dispo plans on a PICU patient transferred out to the floor and the silence on the other line made me wonder if 98% of the reason this provider works in the ICU is to avoid thinking about discharge planning/outpatient management

When my oldest kid started playing golf with his younger (more skilled) brother, success was measured in how few holes he RQed (rage quit).

Stop telling little girls they’re “trouble” or asking if they have boyfriends. It’s gross, unsafe, and erodes trust in healthcare.

Talk to kids like this instead:
“What’s your favorite show?”
“Do you like to dance?”
“Tell me about your shirt.”

With the AAP conference about to officially end, I’ll now comment that the amount of armed security provided by the city of Denver both inside & outside of the venue seemed a marked increase from past meetings- a sad statement on the times we live in. Some of the speakers even had security details.
