So, my UC claim was basically rejected. A couple of things raise an eyebrow. Apparently, they deduct your housing costs if you have a person living with you even if they aren't paying you, cool so I'm punished for letting someone couch surf.

I will credit Labour with one good idea. The mansion tax has pretty universal support from the left and right, and calling it mansion tax was a stroke of genius. Everyone complaining about it is getting roasted on Facebook, be interested to see what X's reaction is.

This is going to become an issue very soon, I'm out of work, and my partner has just had to pay for car repairs, I'm not asking on our behalf. It's for a friend who has been living with us for over 6 months. We can't continue to support her.
I am thinking about starting a crowdfunder for some friends who need homes. I don't know a great deal about crowdfunding or how it might affect benefit claims (UK - England based). If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

- It is entirely legitimate for the Home Secretary to highlight the overt racism that she receives for taking part in public life.
- Everybody should oppose that racism against her, whatever their politics.
