Wow, I knew Sheen was a decent guy but this is amazing.
The actor Michael Sheen used all his money to start a fake debt collecting business, buy 900 people in Wales's debt, and excused it. If Musk bought ALL $194 billion in medical debt in the U.S. and excused it in the same way, he'd still be the world's riches man by hundreds of billions of dollars.

Totally agree with this, I would happily watch a highlights show, I don't have the time or inclination to watch many whole games.
A 45 minute daily highlights show on Channel 4 would have been a vg way to showcase the coverage. Just streaming the live feed for 52 games works for fans & nationals of the competing countries but doesn't pitch it as much to the general football audience

It's been pointed out to me that it was Sunak who cut the aid budget, Cameron actually increased it. It was certainly seen as controversial though, and of course roundly (and rightly) criticised by Labour.
It has surprised me how relatively little fuss there has been over Starmer's disgraceful decision to cut the aid budget. I'm sure Cameron got more stick when he did it.
It's as much a betrayal of liberal values as their attacks on immigrants and asylum seekers and disabled people.
"Keir Starmer’s raid on overseas aid has led to a 40% cut in funds for countering Russian aggression and misinformation in a region of Europe described by the prime minister as vital to the UK’s national security."

I think it's actually down to the way in the 1960s Britain caught on to American culture at a bit of a time-lag, plus the breakup of the Beatles. I shall explain in a thread.
I wonder how much of this difference comes from American Christmas being rooted in German culture?

Much as Brexit is awful, this isn't really true though. The increase in numbers coming on small boats is down to increased crackdown on other methods of arrival.
Also, I object to the implication that people coming here to claim asylum is something which demands an apology from anyone.
