Stank. Showered. Now sweating like a bastard from the effort.
andrewgiffordphoto.bsky.social
It was so boring I couldn't remember if I'd seen it before. But I had.
andrewgiffordphoto.bsky.social
Nah, left me and Sharon both bored, unmoved.

if you’ve ever watched the apprentice, that’s the world without arts or humanities degrees

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Had a fair few chicken kebabs from there! Made it onto the photo wall once, by accident.

To rub salt into their wounds, these patients have watched as the man many see as their tormentor-in-chief has been garlanded with honours, including a knighthood. His latest appointment is yet another blow.

On the one hand, medical science is beginning to get a handle on the very complex physiological basis of this disease. On the other hand, we can expect the greatest medical scandal (so far) of the 21st Century – the mass mistreatment and neglect of ME/CFS sufferers – to continue.

Great to see research on biomarkers for ME/CFS but the headline is premature IMO. Not clear what the test was validated against given there’s no gold standard.
What is needed -and can be achieved rn- is consensus on diagnostic criteria which may include -but not defined solely by- blood tests.

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.
There's a huge BUT coming ...🧵

Research could offer hope for ME patients – but some experts urge caution and say more studies needed

⚠️The NHS once protected us.

Now, millions of Clinically Vulnerable people are being told we don’t qualify for a Covid vaccine - even as new variants spread.

This is a dangerous, preventable mistake.

How is this department allowed to continue to send out such shite communication, to a vulnerable group of people - vulnerable in the sense of the MASSIVE power imbalance. Why isn't it held (audited, penalised) to a higher standard? Why is the DWP allowed to be so inhumane? It's shocking.
andrewgiffordphoto.bsky.social
I hate the DWP so much. Any letter from it raises more questions than it answers. It's an abuse of power and causes unfair stress. It is never a competent, let alone helpful and kind, letter. Today I received two, near identical. Oh and a paltry £10 'Christmas bonus', I mean, ffs.

Some of you may be wondering about the glamorous lifestyle associated with the architectural work I do.

Well, I can now share some of that with you. I get this sort of ad for reference material on my Instagram feed.
(It is a genuine ad.)

An Israeli pharmaceutical company that operates at the heart of the NHS has been aiding the Israeli military during its genocide in Gaza, Declassified can reveal.

Teva supplies around 14% of the prescribed medicine packs in Britain, and supports the IDF👇

It's mostly my inner youth trying to let rip.

Even if I were well, it's mainly about the geekery than really getting into it. I'd probably only play with it a couple of days in any given year.

I've got some eBay saved searches running, in hopes of a screaming bargain do-er-upper but it's likely just a vanity project tbh. I've also got my eye on some cool OEM and third party body shells - Clio Williams, Mini Cooper, Beetle etc. - as I'd want to do that myself.

Well.... my RC was an HPI car, which the model shop man said was slightly higher quality, but Tamiya kits seems just as upgradeable to the same price point. My mates all had Tamiya RC's when we were kids, but my folks could never afford. So, dunno.
