The more I think about it, the more I believe that one of the central problems in European politics is an ageing society, which incentivises governments to make policies for old rather than young people which is not only unfair but stifles innovation& economic growth.
Spiral to the bottom.

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO), an insulation scheme funded through energy bills, has been scrapped.

The latest version faced structural issues and needed an overhaul, but ECO has run for over a decade, supporting a steady supply chain for retrofit businesses.

So, what does this mean?

Raiding the Warm Homes Plan to find the money for a one-off cut to energy bills is utterly perverse when the Plan exists precisely to insulate homes & thus keep bills lower in perpetuity- this simply isn’t serious #budget2025

He is the Prime Minister and a party leader. Why isn't he launching a national investigation himself?

Good opportunity to significantly reform the OBR though. It's an Osborne era hangover, doesn't work as intended and is distorting the economic and political process.

When the powers are in the Treasury's hands - Wales misses out.

Wales' weak borrowing powers hampers our ability to invest in infrastructure, housing, hospitals, and transport.

Today's Budget must correct this, to unlock investment in our communities.

Name the industrialists who have left Johny boy.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social wants to introduce a wealth tax of 1% on assets of over £10m & 2% on assets over £1bn & if the super rich want to leave the UK because they are being taxed a tiny amount more then we should wave them goodbye

Thatcherite John Redwood says 1% isn't a tiny amount.

But Wales still hasn’t received the billions owed from HS2, no control over our natural resources, and hit hardest by Labour’s taxes.
