Before 2024 the last time I'd visited was like 20 years ago probably and I'm guessing it's the usual story of being bodied by 2008, then gradually going into decline over the Tory years only to be destroyed by covid

I think you said in the past where you are haha. There are *things* that go on here - especially in the summer - but it's more of a local theatre/panto/local live music kind of place.

Some people tried to make an art space with like hotdesks but kids trashed it before it opened so we get *nothing*

Sunderland is basically a dead city compared to what it used to be, they have a great Olympic sized pool there now which is a good excuse to go wander the shops when you're done but you used to be able to have a day out there, now its all boarded up 💀

Thats the shit that made me *obsessed* with the X files, I remember seeing it on TV like while on holiday, like in a chalet at butlins when I was like 8, possibly a re-run but holy *shit*. Alien episodes I could take or leave but Tooms is iconic

The fun thing about being fat/not conventionally attractive is nobody assumes I want kids, not even relatives - that's probably really hurtful if you actually do want them and look like me - but it suits me to just *never* to be asked it.

Yeah, there seems to be a bunch of things happening in Newcastle, which makes sense, but I feel very unsafe in that city once it gets past like 6pm when it transitions from shopping to LADS LADS LADS LADS

I'll add that this isn't me like being desperate to move, I'm not moving, this is more of a ' this is the big difference between here and London' thing that I've been either too busy or too burnt out to do much about.

Having weird work hours didn't HELP but

I can't afford to move and it wouldn't be a good idea anyways, like I did my time in the south and it's just not affordable unless you're from there or have rich parents, it just sucks that every part of the country that isn't London or an hour away from London has been left to fucking rot

I am just so very tired of living in a town that's dead, it's not like I ever had a social life here past the age of like, 17 anyways but there is an element of like...never seeing anything aspirational around you that drags you down a bit.

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

Huh interesting, I bounced pretty hard off the original despite backing it on Kickstarter and being super desperate for a new 3D mascot platformer at the time, i think the newer 3D mario games just kinda changed what I expect out of that genre and it was hard to play something that felt throwback 💀
