WA Liberal leader Libby Mettam has threatened to restore WA's malapportioned undemocratic upper house rural region system.

Falsely claims new system "disenfranchises" regions and they have lost representation when voters in them get the same vote as anyone else.

Good UK example of how media pick up on doomy/trendy takes out of polling and amplify them when the real polling story is far less clear.

Seeing something similar in Aus with the young male Dutton fans narrative, supported by crosstabs from a single poll that are being misinterpreted.

killing characters off has become somewhat of a cliché. be more original without losing any of the heartbreak by having your characters all dead at the beginning, and one by one coming back to life as the story progresses, to their empty homes, broken families and meaningless existences

What surprised me the most was how *early* these divergences by STEM fields emerge.

By age 6, kids already see girls as worse at computer science and engineering. But...there's no early male bias for math. (I made this graph for a broader audience).

Six-year-olds have quite nuanced beliefs!

This thread got me thinking about a nuance here. We often hear people say that making clean energy cheap is the best and fastest way to get to zero emissions, but we HAVE made clean energy cheap. Really cheap! This issue is that we need to move faster. Much faster.
The most effective way we can cut emissions over the next four years is to make clean energy cheap.
