My longest-serving pinned tweet on Twitter was: "No, I don't have 'an extra i'. I have the full complement of 'i's. Those other people are lacking an 'i'. Thank you, that will be all."

(I quite liked it, but you can't pin posts here (yet).)
I've nearly finished three of the books I'm reading. Will I get them across the line in time for them to be added to the list of books I finished in 2025? I have just over six hours...

I much preferred the 2016 Ghostbusters to the 1984 Ghostbusters (which I saw in 1984).

(Not least because I am immune to Bill Murray's charms, but would do anything Kate McKinnon told me to do.)

I do feel like that's less a 'controversial opinion' and more a 'silent majority opinion'.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Fun fact: Years ago I signed a contract for "The Big One: An Oral History of the First Interstellar War" and then World War Z came out, was huge and we shelved it. Recently I wondered if it was time to revisit the concept AND NOW I SEE THIS UGH WHY MAX BROOKS WHY

(Also, can't wait to read it)
New book on its way! For the last few years I’ve been working on ‘The First Hundred Hours, a story of Alien Invasion.’ Updates coming soon!

During the 2020 lockdown, when a @morrisfolkchoir.bsky.social member had a birthday, we posted photos we'd taken with birthday wishes on the choir WhatsApp - mainly flowers and nature initially, but then all kinds of things. We kept it going, so now we get lovely photo galleries 2 to 4 days a month.

Having recently started using playlists on Spotify, I have found that playlists created by other actual people are much more interesting and just better in various ways than playlists created (whether 'for me' or not) by Spotify.

Taking my aspirin in a different holiday location, wondering where its taste is going to sit on the scale of sweet to horrible once dissolved in the local tap water. Bristol: surprisingly mild.

Correcting typos in captions and subtitles counts as “engagement” and drives the algorithm. Often its done deliberately. Like I just did there.

That alone should be depressing enough a fact to encourage you to be more like Bob.

You know it make’s sense.

My most unlikely and unprecedented happening this evening was the young Asian waitress in Cote saying to me, "You have a really cute face!" Aha, I thought, this must be one of those foreign agent honey traps I've heard so much about. She then elaborated, "Like Santa Claus in the shop."

he's checking it twice
gonna find out who's naughty or nice
