You and me both. And now folks are treating Bush Jr. like a nice old paintin' grandpa who everybody misses; forgetting the whole "lies to take us into an unnecessary war," literal torture at our Cuba concentration camp, letting the Ninth Ward in NOLA drown, mass surveillance and more.
It's cute, reading all these anguished cries: "when this is all over, these guys need to go to jail!" I remember saying that during Bush I crimes, and during Bush II crimes, and during Trump I crimes.

Guess how many of those guys went to jail.

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

But the use of ST6 here as the controlling unit isn't really a reflection of a maritime environment as it is just how JSOC manages roles; it could have been Delta/CAG or whatever

So this isn't so much about 'ISR' exactly as it is that JSOC (and specifically ST6) were the ones tactically managing the operation and had legal responsibility for targeting decisions

How JSOC manages the 'rotation' of its units is a different but related discussion

However, in ops like this, particularly involving a strike where the call for fire is happening remotely (ie the people directing the strike are at Bragg, not in the vicinity of the target) the 'GFC' with TEA can be at a fairly high level

In this instance, it was the three star JSOC commander

Legally speaking TEA inherently resides with the Combatant Commander, but it is usually delegated as a practical matter

Eg, the GFC of an infantry unit being assaulted calling for close air support is gonna be like an O-3, who has delegated TEA via ROE and other military command structures

In any call for fires there is a ground force commander, this is the individual who in the context of targeting has the delegated legal authority to make a determination to engage; this is referred to a Target Engagement Authority (TEA)

In 'traditional' large scale combat TEA is delegated very low
Im not familiar with the military side of things, how is it that the seals (jsoc) were the ones gathering the intel? Do they have isr better than like the rest of the navy?

The SEALs (really JSOC) had target engagement authority but the trigger pull and target lasing was done by an air force (I assume MQ-9) crew

Which raises a question that folks need to be honestly grappling with if they truly want accountability: how and where does culpability flow
Every single one of them has to be purged from government and politics, and the institutions they have used as their thugs and executioners, starting with the Navy Seals, need to be ripped apart. Anyone who facilitated this abomination must face cold and dispassionate justice

1) Joe Biden lives rent free in Trump’s addled head, which, as a former slum-lord, has to drive him nuts. He has Biden Derangement Syndrome.
2) How many times have we seen Sleepy Don sign an Executive Order and then turn to an aide and ask what he just signed, because he doesn’t know?
Trump claims “any document” signed by Joe Biden is “hereby terminated.”

He calls out executive orders later but obviously “any document” would be much broader and include legislation.

(He can’t legally do that but, as always, we get to watch how far he can push this without repercussions)
