Watching car salesmen days before year end baffled that sales have been down for 3 to 4 months. The cars are worse, cost twice as much, wages are half what they were, and you want $700 a month to lease. Nobody’s making money. Of course no one’s buying.

Watching car salesmen days before year end baffled that sales have been down for 3 to 4 months. The cars are worse, cost twice as much, wages are half what they were, and you want $700 a month to lease. Nobody’s making money. Of course no one’s buying.

What historians (and other scholars do) is create knowledge. We should use that phrase more and talk about what it means. I think we don't, and it's part of why AI enthusiasts are confused when we don't readily agree that our work can be replicated/replaced by their products.

Watching Miracle on 34th street, and I’m struck by how clever the solution was. The movie took the time to set up how disastrous this case could be for EVERYBODY involved, then neatly threads the needle with the post office in an incredibly satisfying way. It’s a dues ex machina done perfectly.
