My OCD has superpower aspects. Advocates monthly town meetings at Dunkin' in breakaway NE. Dreams of being an economist. Assume it's a failed attempt at humor. Don't want the drama.
Winter tires: NAILED IT!

Got them on for all three family vehicles and the NEXT DAY needed them. First time I wasn't a month early or a month late sync with the weather. Gonna be a wild winter.

"Powers has the arm of a twenty-second century rail gun" is a great line.

Universal or Single Payer Health Care.

We should campaign on it and beat that drum until we have it just like the right beat the broken government drum until now. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM. We were close. Now's the time.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is amazing, as was the original reboot trilogy.

Which reminds me, why do we whine about Bond and Marvel but continue to go while these films exist but are off everyone's radar?

I'd like a twist where it turns out Carl is actually a pretty good broker, just a bit overbearing but on part with Schwab in terms of return on investment.

Hate: Rudolph (the song)

Give Props to: Burl Ives version of the song, especially if you listen to it in a car driving in the dark on a cold snowing evening.

I was kind of over Pierce Brosnon being James Bond by the time he actually became Bond (it was a long drama to get here). But the early scene here where the bullets take out the post and he casually nods his head to the side instantly sold me.

That and the mad woman with the machine gun.
The seventeenth film in the James Bond series "GOLDENEYE" directed by Martin Campbell and the first to star Pierce Brosnan as secret agent 007, premiered #OnThisDay in 1995 at the Radio City Music Hall, New York City

Dude, read the room. Yuck.

"Johnson, 53, put his hand on Grijalva’s shoulder and deflected, saying, “Look, I really like this lady. She’s gonna be an excellent member of Congress. She’s a great person.”"

I think, like "Let's Go Brandon" this is the nickname that would a) stick and b) do the most damage. He'd hate it.

When is the YA market going to have more zombies?

THE (ZOMBIE) OUTSIDERS: "Ponyboy, I'd rather be the walking dead than be a Soc!"

ARE YOU THERE GOD, IT'S ME, ZOMBIES: "We must! We must! We must make zombies go bust!"

HARRIET THE ZOMBIE: "You noted my brain isn't worth eating, Harriet!"

My saucepan holds 11 eggs when I boil them and I'm left with a single, unboiled egg that I then need to remember for days is not one of the boiled ones.

This is a more esoteric version of the 10 hot dogs, 8 buns predicament.

This makes me wonder if George Will is at heart an X person or true BlueSky person. Like, his need for mainstream attention vs. his turn against the current GOP and love of baseball....

Not wonder enough to look it up, but wonder. He's awful.
All the thinkpieces about Bluesky don't account for the fact that it's occasionally 100% wall-to-wall baseball on here

When I was in college I bought the Fischer Price video camera, which recorded on cassette tapes. I wanted to be a filmmaker at a time where even VHS recorders were expensive.

This quality reminds me of that. I miss bad tech.

And this without the Dems having a plan beyond pretending it's 2023.
New polls from Gallup, YouGov, and out of Virginia show voters now trust Democrats more than Republicans to handle the economy. Nationally, Dems now have a 4-point margin on the issue — an 18-point shift away from Trump since 2023. Time to update your priors

The issue that sank Democrats in 2024 now threatens to do the same to Republicans in 2025 and the 2026 midterms

THIS WEEK should have brought out "surprise guest" Adelita Grijalva with a Bible and said "Why not now?"

#gotchajournalism
i genuinely do not understand why he keeps digging the hole deeper on this one
KARL: I mean, you could swear in Adelita Grijalva tomorrow, right?

MIKE JOHNSON: No, not tomorrow. We couldn't. We wouldn't.
