The kids keep me from being the crazy cat lady you've been warned about; the cardigan keeps me warm and welcome in the library. All smutty romance requests go to Aunt Sue. Probably reading three books and still behind on my ARC reviews. |#BookSky|

My youngest's goal is to work more mindfulness moments into her daily life. A good goal for any of us, right? If you are also looking for ways to do this for resolutions or better self, check out This Beautiful Day: Daily Wisdom from Mister Rogers by Fred Rogers (Hachette). #BookSky #Mindfulness

Sound advice.
Some advice.

If you're worried your tbr pile looks too big, just move it further away, so it looks smaller

You can then buy more books.

"It became essential to let people know that I had these challenging things happen to me and that I used books to overcome those challenges."

If you are in Oklahoma or know others that are with school age children, please pass this along to them. Defense of Democracy created opt-out forms for Ryan Walter’s forced bible instruction. Let’s keep getting in good trouble!

Word of the day is ‘librocubicularist’: one who loves nothing better than reading in bed.

(Not easy to say, but I’m glad to know it exists).

One extremely slow night at work I found a very long rabbit trail of late 1800’s-1960’s menus from Chicago restaurants and it was a *delightful* way to pass time.
I adore old menus and recipe books (vintage Jello recipes are a particular favorite of mine, much to the family’s dismay).

I’m convinced the “do audiobooks count as reading?” argument all derives from those mid-90s summer reading pizza challenges.

Folks - we’re all in our 30s and 40s now. It’s no longer a competition.

Go buy your favorite pie with your adult money and let people enjoy books however they want.

You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
