Im so happy to hear this. Im very pleased so far with our new mayor. And that the city council believes in these bold yet necessary actions.
This SDC exception, championed by @tinakotek.bsky.social and @mayorkwilson.bsky.social, is exactly what Portland needs to bring developers back.
As Finance Chair, I look forward to working through the details to help bring Portland one step closer to a fully revitalized city.

I have a question for @mehdirhasan.bsky.social or @aoc.bsky.social. Why can’t the Senate be elected every two years like the House? There should also be term limits in both chambers.

How are we supposed meet our housing goals especially when they just created a new task force? As the permitting bureau plans layoffs and huge budget shortfalls from the city/county?

We need a sales tax for Portland that can lower other taxes that people understandably complain about. And not have to continue facing a damming budget shortfall every year.

when talking about high speed rail in this interview, mayor wilson also references high speed trains stopping in independence. don't know if that's a super realistic HSR route but we could get fast, electric trains going to independence if we build @bradleybondy.com's pinot line

Here’s my problem with these organizations (which I know are good obviously):
At first, I see these and I’m like: “Yes, I do support and strongly!”.
Feeling encouraged to sign up and support; only then to find the one question at the end: Will you contribute an X amount of $$?
What if I can’t?
