My one personal victory this election season is that my former MAGA fundamentalist Christian mother who got mad in 2016 when I said that Trump is an antichrist for American Christians and who tried to convince me that Biden is the antichrist in 2020 now agrees with me about Trump being an antichrist

Person without depression: This Book about depression was amazing.
Person with depression: it was good until the ending when it was honestly not the best representation of depression and might be more harmful than not.
Person w/o depression: yeah, well, it's a good story and that's what matters

I am walking proof that you can feel 12 and 754 years old at the same time.

The first part is the maturity of my jokes.

The second is my lower back.

My 15 year old self would be very satisfied to know that therapy is a dead end for the exact reasons I thought it would be useless to send me to a therapist back then. 29 year old me is very frustrated, though.

Finally had a productive therapy session, but I watched them check and use their phone multiple times throughout the session. Gotta have that balance.

Thinking it's time for a new therapist since she spent 40 minutes on my being fine with a hysterectomy, but I brought up a severe fawn response for the 4th time and she still hasn't addressed it.

Everyone understands these are bribes.
Normalize calling them bribes.

The worst part about ADHD meds working is having a "Ah, so MY LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN THIS MUCH EASIER YEARS AGO??? THE YEARS SPENT CRYING IN FRUSTRATION OVER SYMPTOMS WERE PREVENTABLE????" moment.

Which is to say I'm so glad I stopped listening to anyone saying "you don't have ADHD".

I might seem like a forgive and forget person, but I have ADHD and it's less that I forgive things and more that I forget them.

I got a diagnosis last month of Joint Hypermobility Syndrome. Last week, my gynecologist suggested that my menstrual issues stem from a connective tissue disorder. The timing is just A+, especially after years of no one knowing what's up with my body, just knowing something isn't right.

Can I put "worked as a nanny where I was regularly expected to voice 6+ characters for hours at a time and would get yelled at by a 4 year old if they weren't distinctive enough and had to improvise scenes on the spot without directive while meeting high demands" on my acting resume?

If you want a really good metric for just about anything, look at how the person/group/law/book handles disabilities.
If the book series has no place for people with disabilities, it's not going to be LGBTQ+ friendly.
If a law doesn't take disabilities into account, it's going to be a mess.

Our Dora Toys were always possessed, so I had a strong loathing for Dora after a certain point, but I am changing my stance on that. God bless the people who decided to have children move around to engage with the show. 10/10 decision.

It’s such a stark and damning demo of elite impunity that pundits keep slapping down “if they punish HIS financial crimes they’ll punish YOURS” like it’s supposed to spark some kind of Spartacus moment from us plebes rather than being a description of how things are supposed to work.
I do taxes for a living professionally, all of my emails are discoverable, and I have absolutely no fear of a single criminal or fraudulent issue of a false business record charge in the whole fucking email archive

I thought they were called corpse flowers because they stink but it's apparently because they eat ballerinas.

My cats are mostly indoor (the one will sit next to me as I garden and doesn't roam out of sight) and leash trained. When my one cat escaped and did not turn up so I posted a Lost Cat memo, I had people saying they'd steal my cat if they see him. Because I abuse him. Because of leashes.
Seconded. I am a HUGE advocate of indoor cats and I think that people who 'let' their cats outside unsupervised are bad owners and on par with people who would do the same to a toddler. (Totally aside from the impact on OTHER WILDLIFE.)

I hate filling out pain index questionnaires. My muscle pain today is "mild", but prior to October of last year, this would probably have been a 6 out of 10. But now it's a 3 because of how far it is from my worst day.
Same with headaches. Someone else's 10 is probably my 4.
