Simply tragic.

While many people were involved, I put Battlefield 6’s success on him. It’s no accident that the ship was righted when he took the helm
Devastated. Outside of consistently hearing him be very pro-player and anti-shitty corporate practices I can’t speak to Vince professionally, but personally he was such a down to earth, funny, warm person. The industry already feels far less bright without him.

As an adult I am still firmly of the belief that the only people who would even consider privately owning and hoarding this kind of unique dinosaur fossil are cartoonish villains

Getting new dinosaur facts by giving fossils to paleontologists simply must be among our highest collective priorities

Alan Wake 2 is one of the most beautiful games I have ever had the pleasure of playing

As a bonus, it’s also fun to play and has a great story
I remember when people were shitting on Alan Wake 2 right when it came out because they were mad it wasn't on Steam and were like "oh this is gonna suck, it's a failure, it's garbage" and I was like "nah, this is amazing" and someone was like "why are you dying on this hill?"

well, I won lol

If I ever get a time machine, I'm going back to the Westwood offices circa 2000 to slap some sense into their development team

There's just no excuse for this kind of code

The Garry’s Mod addon “Wire” led me from logic gates to scripting in their bespoke language, Expression 2 (E2)

Then, a server owner I wanted to impress taught me Lua after we initially bonded over E2

I spent the rest of my high school years writing Lua before going to college for Computer Science
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Dear Game Developers,

Let me fast travel while airborne.

If the punishment for death is a loading screen and fast travel is a loading screen, there's no reason to restrict it while I'm falling to my death.

If I'm not falling to my death, why make me wait 0.2 seconds to land?

Sincerely,
Everyone

Thank God we’re all gonna die from something cool

I was afraid it would be something lame like a plague
WHAT I JUST LEARNED: the number and intensity of solar flares has “created a rare "cannibal CME," where coronal mass ejections (CME) form one large, fast-moving CME.”

CANNIBAL CORONAL MASS EJECTION. That’s what’s happening.

Every once in a while someone will say they liked something I made and I’m so shocked and flattered every time. I just quietly assumed the user numbers had no relationship to real people
I got a real actual piece of "fan mail" recently. Someone who played & enjoyed the 3rd and 4th games I worked on when they were a kid.

It felt so good. 🥰

To some degree now, but moreso in 2k, we game devs sent these things out into the world and aside from reviews, there was just silence.

Outer Worlds 2 is really fun. I just got a flaw and a perk that together will radically change how I play.

I’m not used to RPG perks being that impactful post character creation

The Pope is the head of the Catholic Faith and Evangelicals are a Protestant denomination.

At least know the absolute basics if you’re gonna try to dunk on Christian hypocrisy
I’m not convinced that evangelicals have ever even seen a bible?

Tracking this bug down has been truly hellish.

Now to just simply figure out how to implement C++ atan in Lua…

@robzacny.bsky.social Re: Linux - I'm a little behind on the podcast, but you might like the Bazzite Linux distro.

It's what I switched to from Windows 11 and it's been pretty plug-and-play with playing games. Little bit of a learning curve just because it's an all new OS, but I've stuck with it
