I've been watching Kat for a while via Mother Jones. I'm glad to see some of our more liberal voices moving directly into politics.

we've been talking to a few homeowners here to try and figure out an arrangement like this for seattle.

it is *a lot* of risk

Social Security, which in the first year served about 250,000 seniors, took 16 months to set up, from bill passage to the first benefit payments.

Washington’s e-bike subsidy program, which will provide about 5,000 grants of either $300 or $1,200, took 37 months to deploy.
The wait is over: Washington's e-bike rebate program, two years in the making, will officially launch on Wednesday.

Links to rebates will be available starting at 7 am, with general $300 rebates available and $1,200 rebates for lower income households.

What we're seeing at #handsoff protests nationwide today and what we saw at the ballot box on Tuesday are not unrelated. The public is furious. It will not be silenced. And those who side with Trump and Musk—or refuse to fight back—will be swept out of office.

yeah uh like every single local weatherman in the country relies on the nws to tell your grandma to go get in the root cellar so
hey um, the National Weather Service is getting screwed. apparently tons of websites are set to go dark tonight because of lack of funds. Weather forecasters are saying this is going to affect warnings and predictions *immediately*
Canceled contract means NOAA research websites slated to go dark
NOAA is under a mandate to slash its IT costs.
