I always feel strange doing this sort of thing but Defector.com has had an incredible January, just a ton of really good stories on a wide range of topics, and I suggest subscribing to it. I am biased, obviously, but I am really proud and grateful to get to do this the way we're doing it.

made cabbage with sausage over rice for dinner tonight. cabbage remains such a world-beater. accounting in equal parts for flavor, versatility, and value, it's easily a top-tier vegetable, and although it may not necessarily be the best vegetable it should absolutely be in the conversation
