Oh, no, Bleach is a better album than Steel Wheels.

The Beatles get too much credit. Their success is built on Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly and etc., and if the Beatles had never existed teenagers would have gone crazy for Herman's Hermits and The Hollies or somebody. (just kidding, mostly)

Nirvana is extremely important because they came out just in time to prevent Dream Theater from becoming the biggest band in America——guy who only listens to Dream Theater

Also Spin did a list of the 40 weirdest "post-Nevermind" major label alternative albums in the wake of Nirvana. Lots of experimental stuff and Beavis and Butt-Head fare!

Ten hit number two eventually in 1992 months after release I’d say because Nevermind hit number one earlier. I won’t dispute their influences but Nevermind was the first mover of the commercialization of the genre (derogatory mostly) that The Pixies and Sonic Youth would never have achieved

I agree, but Nirvana gets too much of the credit (through no fault of their own, Cobain clearly didn't want it). Their success is built on Sonic Youth and The Pixies and etc., and if Nirvana had never existed, 'Rolling Stone' and the RRHOF would tell a very similar story about Pearl Jam or somebody.

BLEACH is one of my big 1989 faves, gets a LOVE rating, but here’s something for the haters:
The cover of Nirvana’s BLEACH album, which shows a negative image of the band rocking out, but one of the musicians’ faces has been replaced with that of Alfred E. Neuman. Also the title has been changed to BLECCH.

I think we can agree that even with "About a Girl," BLEACH is not the ninth best album of this year. Is EARWIG better? Today it is. Going with Juliana.
