This is precisely how fascism works, by grabbing at and taking away a little more freedom whenever events lend themselves to it. Bit by bit you lose your rights, until you turn around and realize the road you're on has been long, and democracy is well behind you over the horizon.

Yep. Normal politics died on November 5, 2024 (if not sooner). I'm deeply skeptical of the idea that voters who pulled the lever for Trump when he was clearly an insanely self-destructive choice will make better decisions next time around. Hope I'm wrong though!

This isn’t about John Bolton, so whatever you think about him is irrelevant. It is about every person who dares to publicly criticize Trump. It is about intimidating and silencing all of us, and it will work with some. There are going to be many more Boltons in the coming months.
