I’m amazed there are agencies that still think more work automatically equals a better end result. Often more work is just more work, and the end result will still suck.

I lost one of my best friends last year, who I talked to for literally thousands of hours on a podcast (plus obviously non-recorded time). They’d probably be able to recreate his voice and opinions through an app. And I know deep in my soul that I’d be so furious if I ever spoke to it. The audacity.

Tell us your family wants nothing to do with you without telling us
I feel this down to my bones. I’ve had clients request I move something over 2 pixels or change a font size by 0.3. And now they don’t care if a book is upside down or a dog in the background has extra legs that don’t attach to anything.
I feel the clients now using GenAI to do stuff and going "good enough" when they used to nitpick at every last detail is due to them finding out all those nit picky changes take time and work they cant be bothered to put in.

If what this studio is saying is true, I hope the lack of sleep literally drove them insane and they’re forced to quit the creative field. Even worse knowing the resources they burned sending prompt after prompt to generate an ad that sucks

As someone firmly at the tail end of Gen X, we were lucky enough to escape high school before the internet and college before social media while still being young enough to know how to attach a PDF to an email. But otherwise we’ve got nothing else going for us except some decent music.

Tuesday spin: Radiohead’s The Bends. This is the one where Radiohead actually became Radiohead. High & Dry, Fake Plastic Trees, Just, Sulk, every song is great. It doesn’t get as much credit these days because the albums that came after are all-timers, but it’s still awesome.
