Well, guess I'm starting to use Bluesky now.

Fuck it, this is the state of tech and social media... actually, pretty much nothing has changed if you think about it.

Facebook Corp (Meta) was founded on tech developed by horny teenagers treating their fellow students like prostitutes.
My review of 2025: Needed more salt. Less genocide. More music. Less Donald Trump. More books. Less procrastination.

I at least held off swearing at myself this time.

Today I head into work to once again help feed the masses.

As I prep for work, I think back on 1999, last week before Xmas. My case worker at the job centre (UK) sent me to 3 job interviews in the week leading up to the big day.

Today, I worked a 5 hour shift because a co-worker was 'sick'* and couldn't work.

Food service on a Sunday is... different. Some days it can be kind and relaxed. Today was not that kind of day. I'm done covering shifts now till the end of the year.

I have an unscientific way of figuring out who was in the redacted sections of thr Epstein files.

Make a list of everyone currently "making donations" or regular payments to Trump businesses for seemingly no reason and no mutual benefit.

The publicise that list next to the redacted files.

I knew coming into work today would be special.

Today, we got told by Payroll that they may have overpaid several employees last month because... reasons.

I am included, because I took my pre-booked days off and I was paid for them. All 7 days, not the three I would have normally worked.

The problem I have with starting work late in the day is finding something to do that wont bleed into the block of time I need to get to work.

So today I thought I would re-read a WIP story I started at the beginning of the year.

I should have left this till this evening, and for good reason...

Also, today is a bit of a late start for me in work, 2pm till 4pm.

A 2 hour shift in the middle of the day.

Because I'm owed a minimum of 16 hours (which I have already provided) but we still need certain times filling in with staff to cover jobs.

Which is the stock-take.

I need to sell my 3D printer.

Long story short: It works fine, its stable and reliable, but I could do with a larger capacity build area for future projects, and I need the home-workshop space.

And guess what this dozy sod did this time last year?

Was your guess 'threw out the box'?

Win a prize!

Please read this whole thread about empathy and work and AI. It's friggin' fantastic.
I hadn't given much thought to the actual philosophy behind the "empathy is bad, actually" movement, because the people espousing it are so transparently anti-human that I never thought of it as having more depth than wolves having the philosophy "Sheep are tasty".

But I realized it matters to AI.

"RemoveWindowsAI" is a script created by zoicware, available on GitHub, that does exactly what it says: it remove every AI feature in Windows 11. Do what you wish to do with this information. I'm sharing this because some folks are forced to use Win11 at work or other places for any reasons.

So today was one of those days filled with a sense of unknowable, existential dread.

I mean, it had a been a good day, but there was just that lingering feeling of WRONGNESS that would not go away.

Not until I returned home, dear reader, and discovered THE TRUTH...
