Having the son in law of the most unpopular president in history and a govt who has a history of human rights violations and silencing critics by literally dismembering them, take over one of their largest media companies left seems like a good idea and absolutely nothing will go wrong.
1. Paramount's hostile takeover bid for Warner Bros. Discovery exposes Jared Kushner's game

Kushner is not running a private equity fund. He's running an influence peddling operation.

It's spelled out on page 42 of Paramount's new SEC filing
Kushner and Saudis back hostile takeover of Hollywood giant
Jared Kushner is funneling $24 billion from Middle Eastern governments to back a hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery—all while advising President Trump on foreign policy.

Looks like they were trying to do that really easy thing of turning a boat back over that has been hit by a missile and get the water out and gather all the drugs back together and stuff some in the hole and keep going toward one of their many mid ocean refueling stops to bring the drugs to us. Duh
POLITICO: Do you believe the second strike was necessary?

TRUMP: Uhhhh. Well it looked like they were trying to turn back over the boat. But I don't get involved in that. That's up to them.

Tax all billionaires out of existence.
Jared Kushner's involvement was "not mentioned in Paramount's press release on Monday morning about its $108 billion bid, nor were participating sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar."

Ugh, I hope regulators can reverse this when we get non corrupt adults in the room

I hope all these actors doing ads and organizations pushing gambling websites are all held partially responsible, at very least in societal shame, when we have an epidemic of people becoming addicted, or those who already have gambling problems, losing everything in their lives as the sites profit.

If this isn’t stopped then rules just don’t fucking matter anymore.
Netflix's $83 billion takeover of Warner Bros Discovery would mean more corporate consolidation.

Netflix, by far the #1 streamer, would take over HBO Max, the #3 streaming service.

This giant merger could violate antitrust law and hurt consumers.

He also wanted union members to lose their apartments and houses so maybe that’s where he’ll get what he wanted.
I dunno. I think Zaslav wanted status as a mogul. I think he wanted to be seen as an Iger or Sarandos. But no one sees him that way.
I would argue that at the end of the day, Zaslav and Malone got what they wanted. A big payout, which was always their primary goal.
December 6, 2025 at 3:27 AM
Quick, everyone cancel your Netflix subscription then this merger will bankrupt them!

I feel like we would be in a very different place in society right now if Google wouldn’t have messed up with the Google + rollout by keeping it invite only for too long. It would have maybe killed Facebook and who knows where we’d be now.

Talk to anyone who will listen about how terrible this would be. Instead of being sold they should be forced to break up the disastrous previous merger.
The DGA and the Teamsters Union are among those against Netflix’s merger with Warner Bros. ‘The outcome would eliminate jobs, push down wages,‘ and ‘worsen conditions for all entertainment workers,’ the WGA says.

Man, Zaslov really wants Hollywood union members to lose their apartments and houses still? Who hurt him?
December 5, 2025 at 11:28 PM
Do antitrust laws not exist anymore? Should Netflix just own absolutely everything? The previous merger shouldn’t have been allowed and now they are compounding that by further consolidation??
If this goes thru it will accelerate Hollywood’s precipitous decline. Thousands laid off. Creatives w/fewer studios willing to bid on projects. Fewer choices of what to watch for consumers. Possibly a death blow for theatrical filmgoing. Just terrible news all around

Pete Hegseth should never have been confirmed.

It’s that simple.

Less than one year into his tenure, the Pentagon is filled with chaos. It’s time for Hegseth to resign or be fired.

Tesla scales back Robotaxi fleet goal in Austin

The Tesla Robotaxi fleet in Austin has only about 30 Model Ys in use. When we compare 60 vehicles to the 500 cars promised just weeks ago, the difference is huge. Tesla will miss its year-end goal by almost 90%.

Someone got into my Costco account. Luckily I was notified of a change to my account so I changed my password. Over the next couple days I noticed some more changes including a new email, phone number, address and over $30k worth of stuff in the shopping cart and saved for later.

You know what would stimulate our economy and also help the housing crisis? Nationwide high speed rail. If politicians prioritized our tax money there, we would all be better off in a short 15-20 years.
