the prequels are bad movies but at least they are in some way art - confused, badly executed art, but with the kernel of creativity and substance in them. 8 is like that too. 7 and 9 are just voids, a product of a spiritually bankrupt creation process.

the "invisible hand" thing is more of an aside, and more of a companion piece to his whole "imagination is the source of empathy" thing from Theory of Moral Sentiments.
Mostly it's "Hey! Hoarding gold is bad economics actually! Having the stuff that gold buys is better, because it does stuff!"

One thing is very clear here: none of the lads have the first clue about how to fight back against this kind of behaviour, there appears to be no political will to even try, and the cranks have free rein to continue behaving as badly as they want for the foreseeable future, with no resistance.
