the prequels are bad movies but at least they are in some way art - confused, badly executed art, but with the kernel of creativity and substance in them. 8 is like that too. 7 and 9 are just voids, a product of a spiritually bankrupt creation process.

I went to see it in a small screen in Banbury where the mood was exhilarated going in and utterly deflated afterwards. And then just because I couldn’t believe it had actually been as bad as it was I went to see it on a massive screen in London.
I saw Phantom Menace in theaters the weekend it came out and that was the first time I considered a movie could truly suck

the "invisible hand" thing is more of an aside, and more of a companion piece to his whole "imagination is the source of empathy" thing from Theory of Moral Sentiments.
Mostly it's "Hey! Hoarding gold is bad economics actually! Having the stuff that gold buys is better, because it does stuff!"

and while any leftist is going to have major quibbles with Smith,
tWoN is about:
-how buying and selling goods and services is better than hoarding wealth
-how people recognize that treating each other fairly is in their self interest
Elon didn't read it.

Awfully pathetic of me this, I know, but will say it anyway. Alexander Isak holds the British record transfer fee and is fully fit, sitting on the bench and not been mentioned in the first half or at half-time. 2-0 down to a title rival and still nothing. Begs the question, should Gyokeres do more?

Not really different, no. When Thatcher said "there is no alternative" the purpose was to stop us thinking about alternatives.

One thing is very clear here: none of the lads have the first clue about how to fight back against this kind of behaviour, there appears to be no political will to even try, and the cranks have free rein to continue behaving as badly as they want for the foreseeable future, with no resistance.
