What a rotten state of affairs that a teenage girl had thrust upon her the responsibility of being the only adult in the room because actual grown adults refused to recognise her either as a child or, more importantly, as a human being. A sad indictment of a pitiful society.

Not saying I feel sorry for her but it does seem really weird that she’s signed up to be the fall guy for the absolute worst and hated policies of a already comically hated government

It's funny how for some things owning a £1m+ house In London makes you a out-of-touch wealthy elitist with luxury beliefs and then suddenly when it's tax time they're back to being ordinary salt of the earth folks living in an expensive city
I sometimes feel like I am going mad.

Owning a £1.5m home is not normal in London or the South East of England.

Perhaps one more round of blaming falling living standards and a wrecked public realm on the poor, immigrants and the left will sort it? It never has in the last 45 years but it has to work eventually

Just so: the plan is to lock the cabin doors to keep the passengers out, fly the plane into the ground and then walk out of the wreckage untouched to fancy jobs at Facebook and PWC. And if you don’t like it, fuck you.

& Eubank vs Benn 1 was more like "These lads might one day fight a real champion, like McCallum or Nunn". They were famous in the UK due to terrestrial TV but neither was top dog at middleweight, it was more a provincial thing for what was then a pretend world title (WBO).

Plus ca change etc. etc.

Mind you, I'm old enough to remember when Oasis and Euro 96 were evidence that all Britain had to offer was nostalgia for the glorious past of the 1960s

Something unsettling and sad about this 90s UK revival stuff, Oasis, Labour, Benn vs Eubank. It‘s nostalgia for a time when the UK actually meant something and some semblance of global soft power, and now all we have left is to do a weak, meaningless tribute to it.
