True solidarity REQUIRES masking.

Even when it’s “inconvenient” or you “don’t feel like it” or “can’t possibly stop eating inside at restaurants” or “are healthy” or “don’t know any disabled people” or “don’t feel sick” or “only have a cold” or “think it’s a hassle” or “think it’s too much to ask”

The headline asked
“Why are so many children
getting long Covid?”
and though we know
that the answer
to this question
is that the pandemic
never ended,
meaning many children
are still catching Covid,
we keep asking this question
hoping for a different answer.

the real story
is that these are all the same story.

Just wondering if you knew that kids too young for COVID vaccines have COVID hospitalization rates that are similar to people 65-74?

Just wondering if you knew over 1000 people a week died from COVID while we were celebrating winter holidays and the New Year?

Does FDA Administrators know?

“I followed doctor’s advice. I’d taken my pills when I was supposed to. I’d had my blood work done, gone to clinics & followed a kidney-friendly diet”

Why didn’t the doctors advice include masking? Why are transplant patients not being told to avoid Covid infections? Why don’t HCWs mask for them?

Sharing these numbers because I wasn't aware of them myself. In the US:

* 1 in 5 unvaccinated people who get measles are hospitalized

* 1 in 20 children with measles get pneumonia

* 1 to 3 in 1000 die

If you're not immune, close contact with an infected person gives you measles 90% of the time
Measles – NFID
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease that can result in severe, sometimes permanent, complications including pneumonia, seizures, brain damage, and even death
