Going to do my movie thread a bit differently this year since I'm not doing it on Twitter, and can take advantage of BSky's feeds, so you can see them at bsky.app/profile/bonu...

I hate to rain on everyone’s parade, but Congress could absolutely vote to release or compel the Epstein documents, & this regime will still block it. There’s no question. Executive obstruction of Congress is a guarantee at this point. They’re not handing anything over. It’s not happening.

2025 watch #835: Beverly Hills Cop III (1994)

Man, going from Tony Scott to John Landis was a severe downgrade in more ways than one.
A cocky Detroit detective in a letterman's jacket sits in a Beverly Hills sergeant's office.

I'm excited for Limp Bizkit, but I'm a little worried about Antifa...
Question
I'm sick and tired of seeing these thugs terrorize big events and am worried that they will try to interrupt Limp Bizkit's set. My gf (F19) and I (M31) are going to our first Lollapalooza and are concerned about the growing threat around the city

NN: Dems say you won't swear in Grijalva bc you don't want her vote on Epstein

JOHNSON: No. It's scheduling

NN: But there have been Rs sworn in during pro forma sessions

MJ: Only reason was bc they flew in their family

NN: So if she flies in her family you'd do it?

MJ: Again, it's a distraction

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

Maybe it's because I'm a parent, but avoidable harm to kids really gets to me. My kids can be difficult when they don't get an afternoon snack at the usual time. I'm sure various parents and teachers can say the same. Watching a kid starve to death? And the US govt did it on purpose?
Unconscionable.

“Girls love it when” + [any LOTR quote] = banger tweet, every time.

Case in point:

Girls love it when you throw down your enemy and smote their ruin upon the mountainside

Incredible.

Jack Posobiec references the earliest version of antifa -- the anti-fascists in the Weimar Republic who were opposed to the Nazi Party -- as the bad guys.

2025 watch #834: The Raven (1963)

Man, they were extrapolating some nonsense that wasn't in the poem, but it was fun, especially Peter Lorre as the raven, and the Egg Shen/Lo Pan fight between Vincent Price and Boris Karloff.
A man slumps against a wall, having fainted, as a woman tends to him, a look of horror on her face as a pudgy man with bulging eyes squats behind her.

2025 watch #833: The Masque of the Red Death (1964)

Gorgeous colors and lighting, Vincent Price chewing scenery while being Jigsaw dressed like Lawrence of Arabia, what more could you ask for?

The reason you have a display name like "The Ass is the father of the legs" is when you make a good point and someone reposts it, they're also helping to spread an important message, which is that the ass is the father of the legs
