Take a breath everyone. Pretty sure the Sox will have someone playing third this season. Baseball, no matter what, is better than the no baseball we have now. And this story is not yet completed.
There’s a lot of focus on the fact that the Red Sox alienated Rafael Devers with the Alex Bregman signing only to then not re-sign Alex Bregman after one year.

But let’s not forget that they also traded the only real prospect they got in the Devers trade for five starts of Dustin May.

Of course, it helps to be old enough to understand the cultural importance of the term “Vichy”, which I certainly am 🥳😎.
In my world, there's a certain reluctance to being merely, or in a knee-jerk way, a resist lib. That's understandable, even commendable. On the other hand, let's be clear: It's a hell of lot better, morally and intellectually and politically, to be a resist lib than a Vichy conservative.

How many soldiers do the Courts have at their command? How are Court orders enforced if no one pays attention to rulings? My point is no words on a piece of paper are stronger than a mob with guns, prepared to us them.
The front line is anyone else who resists, choosing freedom together.
Courts are not just a frontline – they’re the center of the fight against authoritarian threats.

We are working in the court of law, the court of public opinion, and the halls of government to ensure that when people win in court, those wins are enforced.

Perhaps Venezuela is not the actual target and the US Government is instead making its move on Panama, as Trump talked about earlier this year. Surely, Trump is not above a little misdirection in service to his actual intentions.
I’m totally lost. I thought we were invading Venezuela. And now allies with Russia. So the friend of my “friend”
is…?
"The Russian President expressed solidarity with the Venezuelan people and confirmed his support for [the Maduro] government's course in defense of the country's sovereignty."

Cross fire.
The only thing that gives me room for pause about the path that American is headed down is all the guns we have. I'm not sure how a country collapses when we've got more guns than people.

I was there and well remember the audience reactions to Star Wars in 1977... and to Animal House the same year, I think.
Rewatched the original Star Wars (A New Hope) today.

Obviously 'I love Star Wars' is baked in, but if you've not watched it in a while you can easily forget that the back half of that movie is some of the most genuinely thrilling stuff on film, back to back.

1977 must not have known what hit it.

Yeah, now you know how and why so very many more of us now see "Christian" churches abandoning actual Christian love for temporal power.
When Christians tie Christianity to a particular political figure and party, not only do they fuse the reputation of Christianity to everything that political movement does, they become more shaped by the ways of that political movement than they do by the ways of Jesus.
